Bob Marley & The Wailers - The Capitol Session '73

.At last! Thanks to director Martin Disney for commissioning me to write the liner notes for this first official release of Bob Marley and the Wailers' performance at the Capitol Records Tower in West Hollywood during October 1973, and that has taken nearly fifty years to see the light of day. Peter Tosh was still in the group at that stage although Bunny Wailer had been replaced by Joe Higgs, who was the group's original vocal coach back in Trench Town. The Capitol session was filmed and recorded just days after the release of Burnin' by Shelter Vision and whilst there were only a handful of invited guests in the audience, it captures the Wailers in all their early, ragged glory.
