Echoes, February 2024
The first issue of Echoes for 2024 has features on Prince Fatty, celebrating his album of remixed Bunny Lee rhythms and a lengthy discussion about the recent Afrobeats v Dancehall controversy, prompted by my old friend, veteran A&R man Murray Elias. In Vibes we honour the legacy of Jamaican promoter Isaiah Laing, whose annual Sting concerts have finally come to a close after more than forty years. Fatis Tapes - In The Oven, compiled by Fatis' son Kareem Burrell heads the reggae album reviews while Run The Track, our monthly round-up of new singles, includes names like Macka B, Marlon Asher, Busy Signal, Yaksta, Jah Lil and Mortimer, among others.
